TechArt 997 Turbo Cabriolet
TechArt designers have taken the already beautiful 997 turbo cabriolet and injected a heavy does of steroids to produce an astounding 911. This Porsche is basically a rocket ship on wheel and will no doubt suck your eys balls into the back of your head. Yes, the 997 turbo is already ridiculously fast so why not make it faster? TechArt tuned the 3.6 litre Boxster engine to produce a whopping 630 hp which will get you going 0 - 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds. You’ll max out at a top speed of 345 km/h. Not bad for a drop top if you ask me. If your lucky enough to have TechArt tune your 997 turbo cabriolet, you might want to invest into a roll bar.
The front and rear aprons are perfectly designed to induce forced air into the brakes and intercooler. The German tuner offers two body kits, the Aero Kit I and Aero Kit II, both featuring a new front spoiler, new bumper, aerodynamic side sills, lowered rear diffuser with additional, lateral air outlets and a completely redesigned wing profile of the extendable rear spoiler. TechArt kept the overall looks fairly clean in comparison to the GT street edition 997 turbo. The 20 inch wheels are a unique look that I’m not totally sold on, however adds to the overall feel TechArt was aiming to pull off. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS 2’s running 245/30’s on the front and 325/25’s on the rear.
Of course the handling was increased by lowering the ride height 25mm. Another great addition was an electronically adjustable PASM shock absorption system equipped with TechArt VarioPlus threaded chassis. When your running 630 hp you’ve got to have the handling to back that power up. It is evident TechArt achieved this. What are your thoughts on TechArts 997 turbo cabriolet?
