02newporsche911-s.jpgThe new updated 911’s are on their way. Recieving a few minor cosmetic changes and refinments. 20 more hp for base 911s with the 3.6-liter flat six and 30 extra ponies for S models equipped with the 3.8-liter mill, bringing output to 345 and 385 horsepower, respectively. TechArt GT Street RS

gtstreet_rs_porsche-carrera-gt-gt2.jpgAs if the 911 GT2 wasnt fast enough, TechArt decided to squeeze some more power out of the fastest production 911 to date. The factory GT2 produces 530 horsepower, 505 lb-ft of torque and is capable of going 204 mph. Personally i would be happy with the stock performance with Porsche producing an extremely well rounded 911. However if your a speed nut and this doesnt quench your thirst, the TechArt GT Street RS produces 700-horsepower with 634 lb-ft (860 Nm). (more…)

2009 911 turbo Facelift

spy_shots_porsche_911_turbo_facelift_3.jpgThe 2009 Porsche 911 turbo will receive a minor facelift. Although it does seem early, as the 997 style is still relatively new, being only two years old. Some of the new changes include the rear end receiving new taillights with LEDs and a slightly different lens arrangement. Reshaped tailpipes indicate a reworked exhaust, so there will be a few extra horsepower. I would love to see a front end facelift similar to the 2008 GT2, but I’m not holding my breathe. (more…)

Porsche North America Numbers

porsche-911-turbo-cabriolet.jpgPorsche AG, Stuttgart, managed to deliver 2,810 vehicles in North America in June in difficult market conditions; of these, 2,650 units were destined for the USA and 160 for Canada. The drop of 19 percent in total in comparison with the previous year was primarily down to the change of 911 Carrera model. As a result, sales of the whole 911 range in June fell by 40 percent to 753 vehicles due to the vehicle life cycle.  (more…)

2008 Porsche Boxster S

2008-porsche-boxster-s-031.jpgEssentially, the Boxster S is the topless version of the hardtop Cayman S, a car that, within its short life, has gained a reputation among enthusiasts and Porsche owners as one of the sweetest cars from Stuttgart. This is in part due to its poise and handling prowess due to the engine’s placement in the middle of the chassis, unlike a 911 where the engine sits just aft of the rear wheels, making it prone to oversteer if you’re carrying too much zeal into the corners.
